SAKSHI – the Witness…the Seer….that which is aware of everything but affected by nothing.
”Now therefore complete instructions regarding Yoga.”
”To block (or detach from) the patterns of consciousness is Yoga’.”
”Thus the Seer is established in his own essential Nature.”
(Verses 1-3 of Patanjali’s Sutras.)
Who watches the thoughts
Who watches that thought that wondered who watches the thoughts
Who watched the thought that said….The Seer
Who, in the midst of calamity, catastrophe, passion, the energetic heat of life, is always there
Witnessing
the Witness
Sakshi
The Seer
Who drops no anchor in any passing thought
Who watches these words birthed from the colliding nebulae of the mind
Who remains unchanged
Who is never touched
Who, when body and mind and heart recoil at the open wound, remains unmoved
Who, when all collapses about the ears, is unperturbed
Watchful
Calm
Who is beyond all good and bad, dark and light, attraction and repulsion,
unmarked by time, unaffected by emotion, unspent by pain,
Eternal
Witnessing
Self.
The Seer.
Who abides through all the birth, the living and decay
Who is silent
Who is detached
Who knows neither heat nor cold
Who observes love and hate
Who sees death, sees life
Who is unconcerned with practice
or the lack of practice
discipline
or unruliness
Who watches all
Who rests eternally
without judgement
without trait
without differentiation
without quality
Who is neither one thing nor the other
Who neither praises nor disapproves
Who does not seek
Who, on the edge of the highest precipice, untouched by the eddies of space, gathers in the folds of the robe
Who is seated and waits?
OM SHANTI
”When form is the object of observation, then the eye is the observer;
when the eye is the object of observation, then the mind is the observer;
when pulsations of the mind are the objects of observation, then the Sakshi (Seer/Witness-Self) is the real observer;
and it is always the observer, and being self-luminous, can never be the object of observation.”
